Sanwo-Olu pledges support for NYSC members

Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu on Thursday reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to supporting National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members during a courtesy visit by NYSC Director-General Brigadier General Olakunle O. Nafiu at Lagos House, Marina.

The discussions centred on the pivotal role corps members play in driving community development and fostering social cohesion across Lagos, Nigeria’s commercial hub.

Sanwo-Olu praised the corps members’ dedication, noting their contributions to education, healthcare, and social initiatives in urban and rural areas.

“We discussed the vital role corps members play in our communities and reaffirmed our commitment to supporting them as they serve and grow,” the governor said in a statement posted on X.

The NYSC, established in 1973, mandates a one-year national service for Nigerian graduates under 30, aiming to promote national unity and development.

Lagos, hosting thousands of corps members annually, provides allowances, accommodation, and other support to facilitate their service.
