Buruk explains decision to substitute Osimhen

Super Eagles striker, Victor Osimhen, is not injured as earlier feared by many fans of the Nigerian national team.

The Galatasaray striker, who scored the Turkish team’s lone goal in the 1-0 defeat of Liverpool in the UEFA Champions League midweek, was substituted in the second half of the game, raising fears that he has been injured again.

But Galatasaray head coach Okan Buruk has explained his decision to withdraw his star striker, saying that Osimhen was tired and had cramps.

He said: “Osimhen was feeling tired and had a cramp in his foot, but we don’t think it’s anything serious,” Buruk stated on the club’s official website.

“There’s no negative information coming in at this time.”

The powerful striker was named Man of the Match after the game.
