Group enlightens students on online safety, cyber bullying

Students of Ijeshatedo Junior and Senior Grammar School were recently enlightened at a seminar on cyber bullying and online safety.The event tagged: “Basic education and literacy project”, being one of the seven areas of focus of Rotary International for the month was held in the schools’ complex with the students getting exercise books.

According to the club’s President, Kingsley Chijioke, the programme aims to inspires the students and support the teachers as they resume from holidays.

“We are committed to impacting students within our community by focusing on improving access to quality education through various initiatives like what we have done today.

“We are happy that students from both Ijeshatedo Junior and Secondary Grammar Schools benefitted from this programme which gulped N500,000.” The Principal of the Junior School, Alabi Ibikunle said: “The programme was very apt as in about three years from now, there will be no pen and paper examinations as every examination would be done online.”

The Principal of the senior school, Ogunsanya Kayode, also appreciated the club. The Guest Speaker, Dr. Abidemi Dosumu said the programme will definitely prepare the students for their future encounter, especially averting the inherent danger in use of technology.
