Osun 2026: Oralusi declares bid to contest for guber polls

APC must unite to avoid missed opportunities, says Babayemi

An international businessman and a philanthropist, Hareter Babatunde Oralusi, has formally declared his intention to contest for the 2026 Osun State governorship election under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Oralusi, while speaking in Osogbo, yesterday, promised to bring accountability and transparency to governance. Oralusi emphasised the need for Osun State to complement the Federal Government’s national reforms with local initiatives that would transform the state into “a productive, modern, and prosperous state that contributes meaningfully to the New Nigeria agenda.”

MEANWHILE, a frontline governorship aspirant on the APC platform, Dotun Babayemi, has said that Osun State is due for radical transformation, stressing that he is bringing a plethora of innovative ideas to the table. He said that with the enormous resources available to the state, there was no reason why Osun should not be transformed into a powerhouse of the South-West.

Babayemi, who spoke with journalists about his governorship hopeful, maintained his desire to be the state’s next chief executive.

He said: “My desire stems from “my vision to strategically transform Osun from where it is currently, to become a reference point in the country in the immediate future.”

He, however, alleged degradation in the state and called for the forging of a common front to ensure that APC bounces back to power in the state by 2026, insisting that “Osun cannot afford another cycle of missed opportunities.”
