Firm reacts to court order freezing accounts, reaffirms commitment to transparency

Nigerian airline company, Mars Aviation Limited, has responded to recent media reports concerning a court order temporarily restricting access to its bank accounts.

In a statement released yesterday, the firm confirmed that it had become aware of an ex parte order issued by the Federal High Court in Abuja, pending the outcome of an ongoing investigation. The management, however, emphasised that the order was granted without the company’s prior knowledge or representation.

“The application leading to the said order was made without notice to us, and we were therefore not allowed to present our position before the court. We have since instructed our legal counsel to take all appropriate steps to challenge the order and to ensure that the facts are properly placed before the court,” the statement read.

Mars Aviation, which is linked to businessman Mr. Bashir Haske, maintained that it had conducted all its business operations “in full compliance with applicable laws and regulatory standards,” stressing that all payments received were for “legitimate services rendered in accordance with Nigerian law and international best practices.”

The firm also dismissed circulating allegations as “unfounded and unsupported by credible evidence,” pledging full cooperation with investigative authorities and promising to present transparent documentation to prove the integrity of its operations.

“We reaffirm our respect for the lawful mandate of agencies charged with investigative responsibilities. We trust that these powers will be exercised with fairness and full adherence to due process,” the statement read.
The airline reiterated its commitment to ethical conduct, regulatory compliance, and contributing to Nigeria’s aviation and economic growth. It also urged the public to refrain from drawing premature conclusions until the court process runs its course.

“We remain confident that, once all the facts are properly presented before the court, the outcome will confirm the integrity of Mars Aviation Limited and its management,” the statement said.
