Talent opened door for me, hard work kept me inside, says Hamzzy

Youngster Hammed Ibrahim, widely known online as Hamzzy, has attributed his sudden rise in the Nigerian content creation space to sheer talent and hardwork.

A digital creator officially launched his content journey in 2023, but his roots in storytelling and entertainment run much deeper.

“Back then, I didn’t have any proper equipment, just my dad’s old BlackBerry phone. I used to record myself and my siblings, trying to make something fun out of nothing,” he stressed in an interview.

“Those little moments meant a lot to me because they made me realise how much I love creating and entertaining people. Fast forward to 2023 — I had started working, saved up, and finally bought myself a brand-new phone with a good camera. That’s when I told myself, “This is it. It’s time to build my dream.”

Hammed Ibrahim is currently pursuing a National Diploma (ND2) in Computer Science at Kwara State Polytechnic. He is also a proud alumnus of Ajangbadi High School in Lagos, where he completed his secondary education. As the first child in his family, he always carried a sense of responsibility and drive—qualities that continue to fuel his creative journey today. Despite balancing academics with content creation, Hammed has managed to carve a unique space for himself online, blending talent with authenticity.

His breakthrough came when he invested in himself, saving up to buy a new phone with a quality camera in the early years of his adventure.

“That’s when I told myself, ‘This is it. It’s time to build my dream,’” Hamzzy stated.

“Since then, I’ve been fully focused on creating, growing, and building something real out of what once felt like a childhood fantasy. It’s been an amazing journey — from that old BlackBerry to where I am now, I’m just getting started.

”I went into content creation because it’s something that truly defines me. From a young age, I’ve always loved making people laugh, smile, and feel something through what I do. I realised that I’m at my happiest when I’m creating, whether it’s a funny skit, a relatable scene, or just something that brightens someone’s day.

With close to 1.5million fans across social media, Hamzzy acknowledged the crucial role of his fans in his journey and the unflinching support towards his growth.

”I’ve always loved seeing how people debate over rival brands, like iPhone vs Samsung or Ghana vs Nigeria. So I decided to turn those everyday arguments into fun, creative skits. It’s a way to entertain people while also showing the humor in how we all defend what we love,” Hammed Ibrahim spoke of what sets him apart in a saturated industry
