Tinubu hails Kwankwaso for contributions to national development

President Bola Tinubu has congratulated Senator Rabi’u Musa Kwankwaso, an influential politician and former Governor of Kano State, on the occasion of his birthday.

The President also rejoiced with Kwankwaso’s family, friends, and political associates as they celebrated the milestone, acknowledging his invaluable service to the nation across various leadership roles.

In a statement issued by Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, on Monday, President Tinubu noted that as former Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives in the aborted Third Republic, two-term Governor of Kano State, Minister of Defence, and Senator representing Kano Central Senatorial District, Kwankwaso has made significant contributions to Nigeria’s development.

He further affirmed that the Senator’s growing influence in the North, particularly in Kano, reflects his pro-people brand of politics, reminiscent of the legacies of late Mallam Aminu Kano and Alhaji Abubakar Rimi.

“Senator Kwankwaso remains a friend and ally with whom I served in the National Assembly in 1992 and later as governor in 1999. We also worked together in founding the All Progressives Congress (APC). Although he later left to establish the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), it is noteworthy that he remains within the progressive fold,” President Tinubu remarked.

The President wished Kwankwaso good health and many more years of impactful service to the nation.
