The Taide Foundation, established in honour of the late Mrs Taibat Ademosu, has marked its 10th anniversary, with a call for a more compassionate and inclusive society anchored on education, moral values, and community support.

The convener, Dr Akinwande Ademosu, stressed that true wealth lies in love and service to humanity, rather than material possessions. Speaking at the anniversary lecture and debate held in Ago-Iwoye, Ogun State, Ademosu highlighted the foundation’s achievements over the past decade, including scholarship awards, medical outreaches, and the provision of food and welfare support for vulnerable families.

He noted that the foundation’s efforts have impacted numerous lives, transforming the community and inspiring others to replicate similar initiatives.

Ademosu described education as the most powerful tool for social transformation, emphasising that it is not just about the classroom, but also about morals, character, and capacity. He urged Nigerians to prioritise education, stressing that every child deserves the opportunity to learn and become better.

The co-founder of the foundation, Mrs Afolakemi Henry-Onifade, stated that the foundation has impacted thousands of lives through its education, health, and empowerment initiatives, with plans underway to expand its scholarship scheme to accommodate 1,000 students in the coming years.

The event featured a debate, with Omo Edumare Academy, Ago-Iwoye, and Beje High School, Ijebu-Igbo, emerging winners in the primary and secondary school categories, respectively. The winners shared a total of N4m in prizes.

The Group Managing Director of Rainoil Limited, Dr Gabriel Ogbechie, called for greater private sector involvement in the education sector, lauding the foundation’s efforts in promoting learning and youth development.

The wife of the Ogun State Governor, Mrs Bamidele Abiodun, commended the foundation for its service to impact lives, encouraging children to push boundaries and strive for excellence.
