ICOBA pledges to upgrade infrastructure at Alma Mater

Public Relations practitioner, Yomi Badejo-Okusanya has promised to build a formidable Igbobi College Old Boys’ Association (ICOBA) endowment fund that delivers real and lasting impact to students of the college.

He made the promise after being inaugurated as the President of ICOBA, taking over from Femi Olubanwo, the Founding Partner at Banwo and Ighodalo.
Badejo-Okusanya also promised to drive significant improvements in the college’s infrastructure and assets, facilitate the construction of a new hostel for Parker House, project the Igbobi College brand more effectively and foster a cohesive, inclusive, and purpose-driven ICOBA for the benefit of all members.

He said: “I chose Igbobi first, but it has now chosen me in turn. My ascension to this office becomes even more remarkable as I am the first student from Parker House to hold this esteemed position. Coincidentally.”

I also belong to the first set that was wholly Parker House, and the last set to occupy the famous Federated Block.

“I have only one assignment as the 12th President of ICOBA: To leave this association better than it was handed to me. This is a proud tradition I inherit from my predecessors in office, especially those I’ve had the great privilege of serving under.
Under my leadership, ICOBA will ensure that no set, no branch, no decade is left behind, regardless of age, house, class, or geography.

“ICOBA will continue to support the college in every way, as we are already doing. But we will also explore new and innovative ways to expand this support.”

In his remarks, Olubanwo said: “Igbobi has been on an upward trajectory and I expect it will go higher. We have heard of the new president’s programme and it’s a programme that continues from where we left and I am looking forward to the exciting time ahead.”
