The Ogun State Commissioner of Police, Lanre Ogunlowo, has charged newly promoted officers in the command to carry out their duties with integrity, fairness, and professionalism. He gave the charge yesterday while decorating the officers with their new ranks at the Police Headquarters, Eleweran, Abeokuta.
In a statement issued by the command’s Public Relations Officer, Omolola Odutola, Ogunlowo urged the officers to remain dedicated and uphold the highest standards of conduct in their new positions.
Those elevated to the rank of Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP) include Stephen Dapo Ojekunle, Emmanuel T. Falade, Tinuola Juliet Balogun, Gbadamosi Kazeem Babatunde, and Temitope Fapounda.
Out of the nine officers promoted, Ajayi Moses and Okhuegbe Philip were elevated to the rank of Superintendent of Police (SP), while Oyebola Oluwatoyin, Alice Adebo, and Ajayi Abimbola, who serves as Secretary to the Commissioner of Police, were promoted to Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP).
The Commissioner congratulated the officers, noting that their promotion was approved by the Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, in recognition of their diligence, hard work, and selfless service to the nation. He described the promotion as a motivation for others to remain disciplined and professionally upright.
“I therefore urge you to see your new ranks as a call to higher responsibility. You must justify the confidence reposed in you by demonstrating excellence, integrity, and fairness in the discharge of your duties to make Ogun State and indeed Nigeria safe for all,” Ogunlowo said.
