Chairman of FMDQ Group Plc, Jubril Aku, has said that market participants have continued to demonstrate remarkable adaptability and tangible impact in navigating an evolving economic landscape, thereby driving sustainable transformation and long-term progress across Nigeria’s financial ecosystem.
At the 2025 yearly GOLD Awards, organised by FMDQ Group Plc to showcase the resilience of Nigeria’s financial markets and the innovation of its stakeholders, Aku emphasised that despite global and domestic challenges, stakeholders have remained steadfast in fostering innovation, deepening market liquidity, and strengthening investor confidence.
Also speaking at the awards ceremony, the Group Chief Operating Officer, Ms Tumi Sekoni, said: “This year’s edition, presented through a special publication, continues FMDQ’s proud tradition of honouring the outstanding contributions of market participants and stakeholders, whose dedication continues to drive growth, enhance transparency, and build greater resilience across our markets and industry.”
The yearly GOLD Award has become a hallmark of excellence in Nigeria’s financial markets since its inception in 2018. The 2025 edition, presented through a special publication rather than a physical ceremony, recognised market participants and stakeholders who made significant contributions to the advancement of FMDQ’s markets between October 2024 and September 2025. Winners were celebrated across FMDQ’s website, social media platforms, and other selected media outlets.
In keeping with its governance principles and credibility standards, the 2025 FMDQ GOLD Awards were verified by Ernst & Young to ensure transparency and integrity in the selection process.
The awards were presented across five broad categories: Primary Market Awards, Secondary Market Awards, Members’ & Clients’ Choice Awards, Leadership Award, and Recognition Award.
A total of 25 awards were presented this year. Stanbic IBTC Capital Limited and Stanbic IBTC Bank Limited, subsidiaries of the Stanbic IBTC Group, received the Primary Market Champion Award and Secondary Market Champion Award, respectively.
