Business strategist, Hannah Bere, has emphasised the need for technological innovation to effectively aid business growth across the globe. Speaking with journalists at an event recently, Bere noted that Artificial Intelligence (AI) is not just changing technology, but transforming every aspect of business.
Adding that the problem is not the technology in itself, she said it is the huge gap between what AI can do and what business leaders understand it can actually do.
Revealing that she has created a special spot at the intersection of artificial intelligence and business strategy, she said it has really helped turn falling businesses around, all supported by AI, and saved many more from costly mistakes.
She noted that the path to becoming one of the business world’s respected AI voices was not entirely limited, armed with a background that covers both technology and business management.
The range of impact is remarkable In the financial services sector and this has helped banks utilise technology driven fraud identification systems that have saved millions while reducing incorrect alerts that frustrate customers in retail, strategies around personalisation and stock management.
Bere said she has also become a mentor to AI planners, particularly women and overlooked groups in tech. “The AI domain needs a different point of view from what we are used to or know. Technology is changing faster than most organisations can adjust, the skill gap is real, the ethical issues are there and I am particularly concerned about the increasing gap between AI leaders and slow adopters,” she said.
