Christmas: Imo CP initiates watertight security measures

CP Aboki Danjuma

To ensure hitch-free and peaceful Christmas celebrations, the Imo State Commissioner of Police (CP), in conjunction with sister security agencies, said he has put in place adequate security measures across the 27 local council areas in the state.

This was disclosed yesterday via a statement by the command’s spokesperson, Henry Okoye.

The statement reads: “The Commissioner of Police, Imo State Command, CP Aboki Danjuma, has emplaced a watertight security across Imo State, in synergy with sister security agencies, to ensure the safety of all Imolites, residents, and visitors during the festive season and beyond.”

The statement also directed all the Area Commanders and Divisional Police Officers (DPOs) to activate their security mechanisms to forestall any security breach.

“Accordingly, the Commissioner of Police has directed all Area Commanders, Divisional Police Officers (DPOs), and Tactical Team Commanders to remain on maximum alert, to prevent any form of security breach within their areas of responsibility,” Danjuma directed.

Specialised tactical units, patrol teams and rapid response squads and traffic wardens were also directed to work round-the-clock.
‎
He added: “In addition, Police traffic wardens, in synergy with Road Safety personnel, have been strategically deployed to prevent any form of traffic congestion within their areas of responsibility.”

While wishing all residents a happy Christmas and festive celebrations, the Imo CP urged all to be vigilant, law-abiding and security conscious, advising them to use the emergency number in case of a security breach.
