SFEG partners MTN to launch storytelling competition

In a nationwide initiative to amplify women’s voices and address critical safety concerns, Safety For Every Girl (SFEG) has launched the “Her Safety, Her Power” National Social Media Competition 2026.

The founder of SFEG, Chioma Nwigwe, said that this compelling campaign invites every Nigerian female aged 13 and above to share their personal experiences and innovative solutions regarding safety through creative video storytelling, with a substantial total prize pool of N1,250,000 awaiting the most impactful entries.

She disclosed that the competition is proudly supported by MTN Nigeria, reinforcing the importance of private sector commitment to gender safety, youth voices, and digital advocacy.

Nwigwe said that the competition centres on a profoundly personal yet universally resonant prompt, “The day I felt unsafe as a Nigerian female.” Participants are encouraged to create concise 60 to 90-second videos that narrate their experiences with age-appropriate discretion.
