Elders from the Kogi Central Senatorial District have praised Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan for what they described as visible development projects and purposeful leadership since she began representing the district in the National Assembly.
The commendation came during a stakeholders’ meeting held in Abuja and led by a former Deputy Governor of Kogi State, Phillips Salawu, who said the senator’s performance has repositioned Kogi Central and renewed confidence in public representation.
According to the elders, Akpoti-Uduaghan’s tenure has been marked by people-focused interventions in education, healthcare, economic empowerment, and legislative engagement, which they said have helped reverse years of declining visibility for the district.
“Within two years, we have seen a level of commitment and seriousness that has restored pride to Kogi Central,” Salawu said. “Senator Natasha has demonstrated that leadership is defined by service. We encourage her to remain focused and assure her of our continued support.”
The forum highlighted several projects executed during the senator’s second anniversary in office, including the construction of ultra-modern markets in Okene and Okehi Local Government Areas, modern primary and secondary schools in Osara, Adavi Local Government Area, and the installation of solar-powered streetlights and water supply systems in communities across Ajaokuta and Ogori-Magongo Local Government Areas.
Other interventions mentioned include establishing a maternity centre, upgrading police facilities, and empowering youths, women, and small-scale business owners across the district.
Also speaking, Sir S. S. Lawal, a former Permanent Secretary and former Chief of Staff to a Military Governor in the old Kwara State, said the senator’s approach to governance has combined immediate social impact with long-term development planning.
“What distinguishes Senator Natasha is her ability to translate representation into tangible benefits,” Lawal said. “These projects are not just structures; they are enablers of economic growth.”
In her response, Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan thanked the elders for the engagement and reaffirmed her commitment to inclusive development and effective representation.
She said her focus would remain on youth and women empowerment, quality education, accessible healthcare, and legislative advocacy aimed at placing Kogi Central on a sustainable development path.
