Shettima stresses unity, welcomes Mutfwang to APC

Vice President Kashim Shettima

Akpabio declares Tinubu’s administration most Christian-friendly

Vice President Kashim Shettima has said what powers every state is the unity of purpose and the people.  He noted, therefore, that it is not surprising that the leader, who fought for the unity of Nigeria, comes from Plateau.

“This leader is no other person than General Yakubu Gowon who united the country,” he stated yesterday in Jos, the Plateau State capital at the grand reception of Governor Caleb Mutfwang into All Progressives Congress (APC).

“For the governor to decamp to the APC shows that Nigeria is united. We are welcoming the governor today into the party and nothing can tear us apart.

“Under his leadership, Plateau has moved forward. Let me tell the Plateau people that what binds us together should remain so,” he stated.
Welcoming Mutfwang to APC, the party’s National Chairman, Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, told the gathering that he contested under APC with Mutfwang who contested under the People Democratic Party (PDP) as two governorship candidates vying for the soul of Plateau.

The governor, in his address, disclosed that President Bola Tinubu specifically told him he should join him in the party, while Shettima has also been a strong push on him to come to the APC.  He thanked the Senate President and Speaker of the House of Representatives, who encouraged him to come to the party.

MEANWHILE, President of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio, has lauded the administration of President Bola Tinubu as the most Christian-friendly government in Nigeria.

Akpabio made the declaration during a reception rally held to formally welcome Governor Caleb Mutfwang into the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) at the Jos Polo Ground, yesterday.

According to a statement by his Special Assistant on Media, Jackson Udom, the Senate President said:  “Let me place on record that the President Bola Tinubu-led administration is the most Christian-friendly administration since the creation of Nigeria. He has shown this through his actions and deeds. He treats both Christians and Muslims equally.”

Akpabio also praised Governor Mutfwang for positioning the people of Plateau State at the heart of national politics. In his address, Mutfwang expressed gratitude to all those who made the event possible, particularly Senator Akpabio.
