Delta State Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori, has described the Conference of Speakers of State Legislatures of Nigeria as a pivotal institution in the country’s democratic architecture, as he congratulated Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Emomotimi Guwor, on his emergence as chairman of the conference.
In a statement issued on Monday by his Chief Press Secretary, Festus Ahon, the governor said Guwor’s elevation places Delta State “at the forefront of legislative leadership” and strengthens inter-parliamentary collaboration among state assemblies.
He praised the Speaker’s legislative experience and leadership credentials, describing his emergence as “well-deserved.”
and reflective of the maturity and stability of the Delta legislature.
Oborevwori, who was a former Speaker, as well as Treasurer and Deputy Chairman of the Speakers’ Forum, expressed confidence that Guwor would pursue an inclusive, reform-driven agenda capable of fostering stronger synergy between state legislatures and other arms of government in the interest of national development.
ALSO, the Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, has lauded the Speaker of the Oyo State House of Assembly, Adebo Ogundoyin, on the successful completion of his tenure as the Chairman of the Conference of Speakers of State Legislatures of Nigeria.
The governor described Ogundoyin’s tenure as eventful, noting that he recorded remarkable and trail-blazing achievements and made Oyo State proud through his efforts while he served as the head of the Conference of Speakers.
This was just as the governor congratulated the new chairman of the body and Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Emomotimi Guwor, wishing him a successful tenure.
