Celebrity nightlife promoter Pascal Okechukwu, popularly known as Cubana Chief Priest, has again declared support for President Bola Tinubu ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
Cubana Chief Priest made the fresh declaration on Friday on Instagram, where he shared pictures of Tinubu with the Governor of Anambra State, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, and businessman, Sir Emeka Offor.
He used the post to reply critics who described an Igbo man backing Tinubu as betrayal.
He wrote, “If an Igbo Man Supporting Tinubu Is A Betrayal, What Is A Yoruba Man Supporting Obi ? We Can Only Be Nigerians For Us To Per Take In Nigeria.”
The socialite also appeared to take a swipe at political leaders, arguing that governors enjoy immunity while ordinary citizens face pressure to take political positions.
He wrote, “Wetin Your Governor Wey Get Immunity See Align With Na Wetin Una Wan Make Common Business Man Like Us To Battle.”
Cubana Chief Priest insisted that Tinubu had political advantage and urged Nigerians to stop what he called tribal politics.
He wrote, “Tinubu Is 20 Steps Ahead, Can’t You Guys Read The Lines. How Can We Comfortably Decide To Fail Again All In The Name Of Being Tribalistic.”
He also referenced Tinubu’s political journey and the “Emilokan” slogan linked to the President’s rise.
He wrote, “For Tinubu To Become President He Motioned Buhari A Hausa Man & Waited For 8 Years Before He Could Become President. Na Him Be That EMILOKAN Wey Baba Dey Shout. Tinubu SERVED !!!!”
The nightlife mogul warned his followers against supporting any other candidate in the next election.
He wrote, “Leaving Tinubu To Support Any Other Candidate For This Election Is Like Not Looking Both Ways Before Crossing The Road.”
He added that people should align with Tinubu’s political structure for personal growth.
He wrote, “Follow Who Know Road, Stay With Person Wey Get Structure So That You Sef Fit Tap In & Plan For Your Own Better Future.”
Cubana Chief Priest also claimed that protests and sit at home actions had not produced results, saying the South East should now seek influence from within.
He wrote, “We Don Fight, Protest, Scream, Yell, Even Kpai Ourselves & Nothing Changed. We Don Even Do Sit At Home For Years Nothing Changed. Like This The Only Option Is For Us To Serve & Get Settled.”
He added, “Only Time Will Tell, If You Can’t Beat Them You Join Them. Umunne It’s Better To Be Inside Than Outside. Think💭 Am Well, Join @cityboy.movement_hq”
The post comes days after the City Boy Movement announced Cubana Chief Priest as its director in Imo State, a support group backing Tinubu’s re-election bid.
His appointment triggered backlash online after he publicly declared support for Tinubu in 2027, a position many users contrasted with his 2022 comment that “only an Igbo president will fix (Nigeria).”
“Ride on pastor. Dem dey see us as mumu. It’s totally unfair, only an Igbo president will fix (Nigeria),” he said in 2022.
In the earlier controversy around his endorsement, a follower asked if he was working against Labour Party’s Peter Obi in the next election cycle, and he replied, “Yes Oh,” while also claiming he worked for Obi in the last election.
