American streamer Kai Cenat has announced that he will be stepping back from social media following weeks of controversy surrounding his breakup with content creator Gabrielle Alayah.

In a heartfelt post on his Instagram story, the 24-year-old addressed the wave of rumours and speculation that had trailed the end of their relationship.

“I just want to say this from my heart. It can be confusing to see news about me and the people around me that isn’t true,” he wrote.

Cenat acknowledged that he has shared much of his life publicly for years, but admitted that the attention surrounding his personal life has become overwhelming.

“I’ve been sharing my life online for a long time now and know that once you share aspects of your life with the world, it can be hard to keep things private,” he said.

He apologised for not speaking sooner, explaining that he needed time away from social media to process the situation.

“There have been rumours, speculations and comments made about my previous relationship and my friends. I want to apologise for not addressing things sooner, but I needed to take a step back from social media and process everything.”

The streamer stressed that the situation should have been handled privately and urged fans not to be distracted by online narratives.

“People react to things in different ways. It is an emotional time and should have been handled privately,” he wrote.

He added that if there is ever anything important for him to address, it would come directly from him.

“If there’s ever something important, something real for me to address or say, you will hear it directly from me. You’ll always hear it from me. Don’t let all the noise distract from that. This applies to everything in my life. My relationships, my businesses, my streams, everything.”

Cenat concluded by wishing Alayah well and asking the public to respect both sides.

“I wish the best to Gabrielle and ask to please respect both sides.”

The breakup announcement

Cenat first confirmed the split in late December 2025. On December 27, he posted on X, formerly Twitter, that he was single.

“I’m single, I will never be in another relationship again,” he wrote at the time.

The couple had made their relationship public in late 2024 around Cenat’s 23rd birthday, and they frequently appeared together on livestreams.

Rumours and allegations

Following the breakup announcement, speculation quickly spread online. Social media users alleged infidelity, and linked Alayah to rapper NBA YoungBoy.

The controversy escalated when Cenat’s assistant, Brianna Lewis, alleged that Alayah was communicating with another man during her relationship with the streamer.

Alayah denied the allegations and stated that she had initiated the breakup. In January, she released a nearly 90-minute YouTube video titled The Real, in which she disputed the authenticity of the alleged messages and offered to submit her devices for verification.

She also rejected rumours linking her romantically to NBA YoungBoy and denied claims that she had received gifts from him or was pregnant by him.

In the same video, she accused Cenat’s assistant of overstepping professional boundaries during the relationship. Although Lewis maintained that the materials she shared were authentic.

Alayah further alleged that Cenat had been unfaithful earlier in the relationship, claiming he was once caught with another woman in his home.

Ever since the cheating allegations surfaced from Alayah and the leaked messages shared by Cenat’s assistant, this is the first time the streamer has publicly spoken about the relationship.
