Tinubu applauds Fintiri, seeks more investments in Adamawa people

Adamawa State Governor, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has pledged the Federal Government’s continued support to Adamawa State in promoting education and infrastructure.

He gave the assurance during a one-day state visit to Yola to commission projects executed by the state government.

Tinubu, who expressed delight over Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri’s “investment in education as a weapon against poverty and infrastructure across the state, noted that the projects across the state would enhance economic growth”.

He, however, called on the state government to continue to “carry the people along to be able to eradicate poverty in the state.”

Fintiri, who spoke earlier, appreciated Tinubu’s presence, noting that the projects are symbols of success across the state.

He assured the President of Adamawa State’s continued support for his administration.

The governor described education as the greatest weapon against poverty and reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to security, vowing to work with the Federal Government to curb banditry and terrorism.

However, Tinubu has called on state governors to remain committed to prioritising the welfare of citizens, describing investment in the people as the most profitable venture in a democracy.

He stressed that good governance must be rooted in the needs and aspirations of the people, noting that democracy can only thrive when elected leaders pursue policies that directly improve citizens’ quality of life.

Besides, the President urged the governors across the country to sustain efforts in economic growth, infrastructure development, healthcare delivery, education reform and social protection, while also encouraging stronger collaboration between federal and state governments to ensure that development reaches grassroots communities.
