Publisher and politician Dele Momodu has addressed the ongoing custody dispute between singer David Adeleke, professionally known as Davido, and Sophia Momodu, saying efforts are being made privately to resolve the matter.
In a post shared on his Instagram page during a visit to Liberia, Momodu said he had been approached by fans urging him to step in and help settle the disagreement involving his niece and the Afrobeats star.
Momodu explained that he was in Liberia to commiserate with former Vice President Jewel Howard-Taylor over the death of her son, but found himself fielding questions about the dispute shortly after arriving.
“Since landing here, I have been inundated with messages from fans of David, and ladies who love @thesophiamomodu to bits,” he wrote. He added that one fashion designer had specifically appealed to him to intervene and settle the “quarrels”.
Momodu reassured followers that there was no cause for alarm.
“Nothing to worry about. Everything is going to be alright… We are working behind the scenes. Pls, keep everyone in your prayers,” he stated.

His comments come amid the ongoing custody battle over Imade Adeleke, the daughter of Davido and Sophia Momodu.
The dispute became more prominent earlier this month, when Davido accused the lawyer of raising sensitive issues during court proceedings.
Shortly afterwards, Davido announced on his social media handles that he had decided to withdraw the custody case, stating that he had never sought full custody but only joint care of his daughter.
Sophia Momodu had earlier addressed the situation in November 2025, outlining her role in their daughter’s upbringing.
She stated that she had been Imade’s primary caregiver for the past five years and had handled all of her expenses, except for school fees, which she said were covered by the child’s paternal grandfather for the past three years.
Momodu also said she had not received child support from Davido during that period. Despite this, she maintained that her daughter “knows no lack” and is being raised in a stable and supportive environment.
Imade Adeleke, born on May 14, 2015, has always been in the public eye with both parents frequently sharing moments from her milestones and achievements.
