Aig-Imoukhuede Foundation has officially opened applications for the sixth cohort of its impactful AIG Public Leaders Programme (AIG PLP).

This esteemed six-month executive education initiative, conducted in partnership with the University of Oxford’s Blavatnik School of Government, aims to empower promising public sector leaders across Africa with the essential tools, networks, and strategic insights needed to foster significant reform within African public institutions.

Qualified public servants from all English-speaking African countries are invited to apply, with the application window closing on Sunday, April 12, 2026. The programme is set to commence in October 2026. Since its establishment in 2021, the AIG PLP has gained recognition for its effectiveness in driving real change.

Alumni from the programme have successfully developed and executed over 230 reform projects in their respective ministries, departments, and agencies throughout Africa.

A recent impact survey indicated that 62% of alumni experienced promotions or expanded leadership roles following their training, highlighting the programme’s positive influence on career progression and institutional impact.

The Executive Vice-Chair of the Aig-Imoukhuede Foundation, Ofovwe Aig-Imoukhuede, emphasised the need for capable reformers ready to tackle the complex challenges facing the public sector across Africa.

She recounts, that one notable example comes from alumna Titilola Vivour-Adeniyi, Executive Secretary of Lagos State DSVA, who developed a secure self-reporting tool enabling survivors of domestic and sexual abuse to document incidents safely and preserve critical evidence.

This innovative tool is already providing survivors with access to necessary support, ensuring that crucial proof remains protected until justice can be pursued. Her project is just one of more than 230 impactful reform initiatives being implemented across diverse sectors, including healthcare, finance, agriculture, and education.

“Effective change requires leaders who comprehend systems, can adeptly navigate organisational realities, and are prepared to facilitate sustainable transformation. We are witnessing every day that investing in the capacity and leadership potential of individuals leads to transformations that policy alone cannot achieve,” she concluded.
