Ondo State Commissioner of Police, Adebowale Lawal, has banned all forms of night programmes in religious centres across the state over the incessant security challenges.

According to the police boss, religious faithful, irrespective of faith, particularly religious and community leaders, should desist from holding night programmes pending when there will be proper security arrangements.

Speaking with newsmen while parading some suspected kidnappers at the state headquarters of the command in Akure, the state capital, Lawal stated that religious leaders should endeavour to contact the police for security advice if such service is essential.

The police commissioner’s stance was on the recent abduction of six worshippers at a Celestial Church in Uso community, Owo Local Council, a few days ago.
