SDTA Global Awards celebrates landmark 5th anniversary with Magnus Agara Foundation partnership

The Supreme Dynamic Talent Academy Global Awards (SDTA Global Awards), also known as the STAR Awards, has officially transformed into a sovereign global institution as it marks its fifth anniversary. The milestone was announced during a virtual press launch on March 6 at the iconic Black Star Square, in what organisers described as a tribute to Ghana, the country that has supported and nurtured the awards’ growth over the past five years.

Over the past four editions, the SDTA Global Awards has recognised exceptional achievements in more than 14 countries, including the United States, France, Nigeria, Mexico, Lebanon, India, Belgium, Gabon, Israel, Kenya, Namibia, Cameroon, and Togo. While its roots remain African, the platform has grown into an international stage where luminaries are honoured with the Globastarion, the awards’ symbol of excellence. In 2026, the academy expanded its mission to celebrate achievement across five key areas: diplomacy and statesmanship, humanitarian influence and social impact, creativity and cultural sovereignty, responsible corporate and economic impact, and youth leadership and intellectual prowess.

A major highlight of this year’s celebration is the partnership with the Magnus Agara Foundation. Founded in 2017 by Engr. Magnus Agara in honour of his late father, Chief (Nze) Sunday Agara, the foundation has become a vital force across Nigeria, supporting communities with limited infrastructure and resources. Its initiatives cover education, humanitarian aid, infrastructure development, and spiritual support. To date, the foundation has provided scholarships to more than 700 students, empowered over 1,200 individuals including widows and artisans, donated homes for the elderly, drilled over 20 boreholes, conducted medical outreaches, and helped connect communities to national electricity grids, while also supporting the training of religious leaders.

To commemorate its fifth anniversary, SDTA Global Awards has launched the “Year of the 500,” a transformative initiative designed to impact 500 lives. The programme will be delivered through three main channels: the Magnus Agara Scholars Fund, the SE25 Elevation Platform, which awards 25 individuals seed grants of GHC 5,000, with the top five receiving legacy grants of GHC 50,000, and the Supreme Order of Patronage Global, a philanthropic order recognising distinguished supporters.

Amb. Zino Lexili Ogazi, S.SPG Chairperson of the Board, described the milestone as “a sovereign evolution of legacy and the dawn of a supreme era.” She added that the partnership with the Magnus Agara Foundation reflects a shared vision of celebrating talent while honouring humanitarian legacies that advance the global mission of the awards. Vice Chairman Amb. Cash-Eric Michael Ogazi, S.SPG, praised Ghana and visionaries like Engr. Magnus Agara for ensuring that excellence remains one of Africa’s greatest exports to the world.

The grand in-person press launch and unveiling of the 2026 edition will take place in Accra, featuring a red-carpet event attended by local and international dignitaries. The ceremony will celebrate achievements in diplomacy, humanitarian service, creativity, corporate leadership, and youth innovation, marking the fifth anniversary of a platform now recognised globally for promoting excellence.

Organisers also extended Independence Day greetings to Ghana, recognising the country as a key partner in the growth and international recognition of the SDTA Global Awards.

Details of the grand press launch will be announced in the coming weeks.
