Members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Taraba State have been urged to come out in large numbers to participate in the party’s ongoing membership registration exercise ahead of next year’s general elections.

The call was made on Friday by the State Chairman of the PDP, Obidah Bitrus, while addressing journalists in Jalingo, the state capital. He emphasised that massive participation in the registration process is crucial for strengthening the party’s structure and positioning it for future political success.

Bitrus explained that the party has already launched what he described as aggressive mobilisation and sensitisation campaigns across communities in the state. According to him, the initiative is aimed at reaching every part of Taraba to ensure that supporters and new members are fully involved in the exercise.

He urged party faithful across the state to take advantage of the opportunity to register, noting that the PDP remains the only truly national party capable of improving citizens’ welfare and delivering better governance.

The PDP chairman also reassured members that the party’s structure in the state remains stable and intact under his leadership. He advised supporters to ignore any splinter groups attempting to create confusion within the party.

According to Bitrus, the ongoing mobilisation and registration efforts are part of a broader strategy to restore the party’s lost glory in the state and strengthen democratic processes.

He added that the PDP is committed to addressing pressing national challenges, including widespread poverty, social disillusionment, and other socio-economic difficulties currently affecting many Nigerians.
