In a move seen as strategic political alignment ahead of the 2027 general elections, the member representing Oredo Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Engr. Esosa Iyawe, has paid a courtesy visit to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
The visit took place at the State House, Aso Rock Villa, Abuja.
With the political season gradually gathering momentum ahead of the 2027 polls, political actors across the country have begun consultations and strategic engagements.
According to the revised timetable released by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), the Presidential and National Assembly elections will kick off the 2027 general elections on Saturday, January 16.
Sharing details of his meeting with the President on his verified Instagram page, Iyawe expressed confidence that Nigeria is on the path of renewed growth under Tinubu’s leadership.
He commended the President for what he described as purposeful leadership and bold reforms aimed at repositioning the country.
“It was an honour to pay a courtesy visit to His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, whose visionary leadership and bold reforms continue to chart a progressive path for our great nation.
“I deeply respect his courage, strategic foresight and unwavering commitment to repositioning Nigeria through the Renewed Hope Agenda,” Iyawe stated.
The lawmaker also noted that Edo State is on the right trajectory of growth, citing the alignment of the state government with the progressive agenda of the Federal Government.
“I am equally proud of how this spirit of purposeful leadership is reflected in the administration of our governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo, whose governance aligns with the President’s reform-driven vision and people-centred development under the SHINE Agenda,” he said.
Iyawe, described as a vocal voice in the House of Representatives, is widely regarded as a strong contender to secure the All Progressives Congress (APC) ticket to return to the House in 2027.
It is also on record that the lawmaker has sponsored one of the highest numbers of bills passed by any representative from Edo State in the House of Representatives over the past four years.
He assured constituents in Oredo Federal Constituency of continued commitment to delivering democratic dividends.
“As a representative of my people, I remain steadfast in my commitment to supporting these transformative policies at the grassroots level. Through my structured empowerment programmes and community-focused initiatives, I will continue to provide opportunities, strengthen livelihoods and ensure that the dividends of good governance reach every constituent.
“Together, we will sustain the momentum of Renewed Hope and build a more prosperous future for our people,” he added.
