Nigerian forward Peter Itodo maintained his strong scoring form in European football after netting his eighth goal of the season on Thursday for FC Metalist 1925 Kharkiv in a 3-0 Ukrainian Cup victory over Lokomotyv Kyiv.

The 22-year-old striker produced a standout moment in the 68th minute of the Ukrainian Cup quarter-final encounter, unleashing a precise left-footed strike from outside the penalty area that beat the goalkeeper and helped his side take a 2-0 lead.

The goal further highlighted the Nigerian attacker’s growing confidence and influence within Metalist’s attacking setup this season.

With the latest strike, Itodo has now recorded eight goals and one assist in 18 appearances across all competitions for Metalist 1925 this campaign.

His form has been particularly impressive in the Ukrainian Cup, where the Nigerian currently leads the scoring chart with five goals in four appearances.

Born on July 1, 2003, in Lagos, Itodo began his football development at Klassisch FA, where he developed the attacking instincts that have shaped his career.

Primarily deployed as a centre forward, he is also capable of operating from wide positions, using his pace, movement and finishing ability to create problems for defenders.

Standing at 1.87 metres, the striker combines physical presence with intelligent positioning and composure in front of goal; qualities that have contributed to his consistent scoring output.

As the Ukrainian football season progresses, Itodo’s performances are steadily attracting attention, with the young forward emerging as one of the Nigerian players making a growing impact in European football.

His ability to score from different situations, including the latest long-range effort, has further strengthened his reputation as a promising attacking talent.
