Natacha Akide, popularly known as Symply Tacha, has officially unveiled the plaques for the two Guinness World Records she set during her makeup marathon challenge in Lagos on November 12, 2025, dedicating the achievement to women pursuing their dreams.

The reality television star and entrepreneur shared the announcement on her official Instagram and X pages on Sunday, coinciding with the celebration of International Women’s Day.
In the post, Tacha revealed that she holds two records certified by Guinness World Records — 82 cosmetic makeovers in eight hours and 143 makeovers in 24 hours.
“It’s finally here. Months of hard work, two Guinness World Records. From victory vision,” she wrote, urging people to remain committed to their goals.
The plaques mark the conclusion of a challenge she attempted during the Tacha Beauty Festival, a three-day event she organised in 2025. The marathon makeup session took place at the John Randle Centre for Yoruba Culture and History, where she and her team worked continuously to complete as many makeovers as possible within the time limits set by the record body.
According to Guinness guidelines, record attempts of this nature require strict monitoring, timing and documentation to ensure the results meet official standards before they can be certified.
Reflecting on the journey in her post, Tacha described the process of organising the festival and preparing for the attempt as challenging, noting that the project required months of planning.
“For anyone that knows me, you already know I like to do things myself — one-man mopo,” she wrote, explaining that her hands-on approach was driven by the desire to ensure the project was executed properly.
She also revealed that the event faced difficulties in the build-up, particularly with sponsorship.
According to her, some brands that initially indicated interest in supporting the festival withdrew at the last minute, while others doubted the feasibility of the attempt.
“They said: how can one person be good at influencing, advocacy, be a graduate, a reality TV star, a philanthropist, a CEO running businesses and still be a professional makeup artist?” she said.
Despite the scepticism, Tacha said she remained determined to carry out the challenge and eventually succeeded in completing the record-breaking marathon.

The former Big Brother Naija housemate credited her faith and perseverance for the outcome, saying the achievement reaffirmed her belief that persistence can lead to success.
“I’m grateful to God that I was able to prove that it is possible,” she wrote.
Tacha further dedicated the awards to women who continue to pursue their ambitions despite doubts or obstacles.
“So today, I dedicate these awards to every amazing woman out there — every woman who is still dreaming, every woman who is still on her journey of becoming, every woman who sometimes doubts herself but still keeps going,” she said.
International Women’s Day, celebrated annually on March 8, highlights the achievements of women while drawing attention to issues affecting gender equality across the world.
“Look at this and remember: whatever you put your mind to do, you can achieve it,” she wrote.
