James Oweikimi Useghan, Chief Executive Officer of Alerte Universal Limited, has received global recognition for his contributions to entrepreneurship, innovation, and social impact.
At an international gathering in Rwanda, he was awarded an Honorary Doctorate Degree in Entrepreneurship and Innovation (Honoris Causa) by Eagleversity Royal Professional University, United States of America. He was also appointed a United Nations Peace Ambassador by the Global Council for Peace Ambassadors (GCPA), USA.
The dual honours recognise Useghan’s efforts in advancing innovation-driven solutions and promoting peace and unity through leadership and community engagement. His career has combined entrepreneurship, social advocacy, and youth empowerment, positioning him as a strong voice for responsible leadership and social transformation.
The recognition ceremony formed part of an international conference hosted in Rwanda by Famous Consulting Limited, a firm dedicated to executive education, international collaboration, and strategic business development across Africa and beyond.
Welcoming delegates to the gathering, Chairman of Famous Consulting Limited Rwanda, Mathias Akinlade, described Rwanda as a nation that symbolises resilience, innovation, and visionary leadership under President Paul Kagame.
“It is my great pleasure to welcome you to this international gathering in the remarkable nation of Rwanda,” he said. “Rwanda stands today as a symbol of resilience, innovation, and visionary leadership. It is therefore fitting that we convene here to discuss leadership, enterprise, and global opportunity.”
According to Akinlade, the conference served as more than just a meeting of professionals. Rather, it was designed as a platform for transformation, collaboration, and cross-border partnerships that can strengthen Africa’s position on the global stage.
“At Famous Consulting Limited, our mission is simple but powerful: to empower professionals and organisations across Africa and beyond through world-class executive education, international collaboration, and strategic business solutions,” he noted. “Over the coming sessions, we will exchange ideas, strengthen alliances, and unlock new opportunities that position Africa confidently on the global stage
During the award dinner, Akinlade emphasised that the honours presented to recipients represented more than celebration; they reflected a call to greater responsibility and impact.
“Today, we celebrate more than achievement; we celebrate awareness,” he said. “Awareness of purpose, awareness of responsibility and awareness that excellence is not accidental but intentional.”
Congratulating the honourees, he encouraged them to see the awards as a renewed commitment to leadership and transformation.
“The world does not reward titles; it rewards transformation. Your industries need your courage and your communities need your leadership,” he added. “Let this recognition challenge you not to slow down but to rise higher, not to settle but to stretch further.”
The honorary doctorate conferred by Eagleversity Royal Professional University recognised Useghan’s exceptional achievements, professional excellence and his contributions to society through innovation and entrepreneurship.
In addition to the doctorate honour, Useghan also received recognition from the John Maxwell Team after successfully completing a 13-week mastermind study programme based on the leadership teachings of John C. Maxwell, particularly his influential book, The 15 Invaluable Laws of Growth. The programme encourages participants to intentionally apply principles of personal development, leadership and value creation in their professional and personal lives.
Speaking after receiving the awards, Useghan expressed gratitude and humility, dedicating the recognition to the people who supported him throughout his journey.
“I am deeply humbled to receive this prestigious Honorary Degree from Eagleversity Royal Professional University and the esteemed United Nations Peace Ambassador Award,” he said. “I accept this recognition not just on my own behalf, but on behalf of all those who have supported and inspired me along the way.”
As CEO of Alerte Universal Limited, Useghan explained that his work is centred on using technology as a tool for social impact. One of the company’s flagship innovations is the Alerte mobile application, which provides real-time emergency response solutions.
“Our Alerte app is a testament to this commitment,” he explained. “It delivers real-time emergency response support in the United Kingdom and Nigeria through location sharing, AI-driven safety recommendations and seamless communication designed to help people in critical situations.”
He noted that the recognition reinforces the responsibility to expand the reach and impact of such solutions.
“This award reminds me that our work is not done in isolation,” he said. “I am grateful to our partners and the communities we serve. Their support drives us to keep pushing boundaries.”
Useghan also pledged to use his new role as a Peace Ambassador to amplify the voices of marginalised communities and promote sustainable development.
“I will continue to collaborate with governments, organisations and individuals to create a safer and more equitable world,” he said.
Addressing young people, he encouraged them to believe in their potential and actively contribute to change.
“To the youth, I say your ideas, passion and determination can change the world. Never underestimate the power of your voice and actions,” he added.

A certified banker with experience in customer service and operations, he has also distinguished himself as a youth advocate. He founded First Massive Literati (FML), an organisation focused on empowering young people and encouraging active participation in governance.
