…Says Tunji-Ojo’s youth empowerment model inspires mobilisation drive
A pro-Tinubu support group within the All Progressives Congress (APC), the Asiwaju Mandate Group (AMG), Owo Local Council chapter, has commenced a grassroots mobilisation campaign aimed at securing the re-election of President Bola Tinubu and ensuring the victory of all candidates of the party in 2027.
During the meeting, the State Organising Secretary of the group, Hon. Akeem Jimoh, popularly commended the Minister of Interior and Grand Patron of the group, Hon. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, for his commitment to progressive politics and youth empowerment initiatives within the state.
Jimoh emphasised that the minister’s interventions and grassroots-orientated approach had continued to serve as an inspiration to members while strengthening the group’s activities across the local government.
He noted that Tunji-Ojo’s contributions to community development had created a positive impact that resonated with the people at the local level.
“We appreciate the Minister of Interior, Hon. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, for his consistent support and commitment to the people. His interventions at the grassroots are giving our people hope and encouraging us to remain committed to progressive politics,” Jimoh stated.
The AMG State Organising Secretary, who also hailed the Director-General of the group in the state, Asiwaju Muyiwa Asagunla, urged members to intensify their mobilisation efforts ahead of the polls.
He argued that the achievements recorded under the President’s Renewed Hope Agenda provided substantial grounds for continued support of the administration.
“Our responsibility is to take the message of renewed hope to every ward, unit and household. We must explain the policies and programmes of the federal government to our people and ensure that they understand the direction of the administration,” Jimoh stated.
On his part, Hon. Lekan Olotu expressed appreciation to APC members for their support during the recent primary election and called on them to set aside internal differences in the interest of party unity.
According to him, cohesion would be essential for electoral success, stating that “the primary election is behind us. What is important now is the success of our party in 2027. We must unite, reconcile our differences and work together because victory will only come when we are united.”
Meanwhile, the group resolved after the meeting that members across Owo Local Government should swiftly commence grassroots mobilisation, voter sensitisation and door-to-door engagement for the party.
The group identified key candidates for support, including Tinubu, Senator Jide Ipinsagba for the Senate and Otunba Timehin Adelegbe for the House of Representatives.
Ward and unit leaders were also instructed to return to their respective communities to consolidate existing support, engage voters, promote peace and unity, and build a formidable grassroots structure capable of delivering a decisive APC victory in the 2027 elections.
