Over 5,000 Ibadan residents benefit from free medical outreach

No fewer than 5,000 residents of Ibadan have benefited from a free medical outreach organised by City Changers Global International, which provided health consultations, medications, eyeglasses, counselling, dental care, and other essential medical services to members of the public.

The two-day outreach programme started on Friday at Glory Tabernacle, Bodija, in Ibadan, where a team of medical professionals attended to residents suffering from various ailments.

Speaking with journalists during the event, the Director of Medical Outreach for City Changers Global International, Pastor Mrs. Seni Sokunbi, a pharmacist, expressed satisfaction with the large turnout of residents who came out to benefit from the initiative.

She revealed that more than 2,000 prescriptions had already been filled on the first day, with another 2,000 expected to be processed before the programme’s conclusion.

“The turnout has been fantastic. Yesterday we filled more than 2,000 prescriptions of various kinds and provided eyeglasses for over 500 people. We are still expecting more participants today. Our aim is to conduct about 2,000 eye examinations,” she said.

Sokunbi clarified that the outreach was supported by a team of optometrists, pharmacists, nurses, and medical doctors from various specialisations, including professionals from University College Hospital (UCH) and other parts of the country.
