Social innovator and founder of Kidpreneur Africa, Juliet Vincent-Obi, has dedicated the honour accorded her by the Georgia House of Representatives in the United States to kidpreneurs worldwide.
The Kidpreneur boss was honoured by the Georgia House of Representatives for her work in empowering children aged six to eighteen years with financial literacy and entrepreneurial skills across many countries and continents.
Nigerian-born Segun Adeyina, representing District 110 in the Georgia House of Representatives, welcomed and introduced Vincent-Obi to the House during plenary, describing her as a social innovator based in Nigeria but with a global reach.
Reacting to the honour and recognition, Vincent-Obi thanked the Speaker of the Georgia State House of Representatives and the other representatives, especially Representatives Segun Adeyin, Gab Okoye, and Akbar Ali, who sponsored the resolution.
She dedicated the award to all the Kidpreneurs in their network globally.
“I was speechless. This indeed is the doing of the Lord. A big thank you to my family. Your support has brought me this far, and to my American family that joined me to celebrate this day,” she said.
She stated that, apart from the honour, Kidpreneur Africa also made history by hosting the first Kidpreneur Day at the Georgia State Capitol.
The Georgia State House of Representatives’ resolution also recognised and commended Juliet Vincent-Obi for her other works as a seasoned entrepreneur, fashion innovator, and social leader who has dedicated her professional life to training the next generation of leaders in entrepreneurship and service.
Representative Adeyina commended Vincent-Obi for championing financial literacy and training children to be entrepreneurs who start their own businesses even at the age of seven.
He also commended the Kidpreneur boss for organising, for three consecutive years, Kidpreneur summits and events across three US cities: Texas, Atlanta, and Maryland.
“I am excited that you take the lead to do this globally, in Britain, Africa, and here in America — in Atlanta, Maryland, and Texas. So, thank you for what you do,” he said.
While presenting a plaque to Vincent-Obi, Adeyina praised Kidpreneur Africa as the first kidpreneur academy in Nigeria and Africa, established to address the low level of financial literacy and to equip children aged six to eighteen years with financial, digital, and entrepreneurial skills aimed at breaking the cycles of poverty and fostering economic growth.
He stated that the Kidpreneur initiative has supported more than 200,000 children across 200 schools in Nigeria, as well as supported 20 schools in Ghana, Kenya, South Africa, Botswana, Zambia and Cameroon.
“She has additionally extended the impact of youth entrepreneurship across the continent and internationally as Africa’s first entrepreneurial summit hosted in Nigeria, Kenya, Botswana, Tanzania, the United Kingdom, Maryland, Texas and Atlanta,” he said.
“It is therefore necessary for this remarkable achievement to be properly honoured during this special time. It is resolved by this House of Representatives that the members of this body recognise the significant contributions and sustainable passion for youth entrepreneurship and economic empowerment and extend best wishes for its continuous endeavours,” he added.
He urged Vincent-Obi to keep up the good work, to keep impacting lives all over the world, adding, “God has given you the gift to do that. Continue to do that, and we will be here to support you.”
He further added, “And for the State of Georgia, we have made a resolution. The Georgia House of Representatives recognises you because of the work you have done. And this is in the history of Georgia. So, if you go and put the House resolution number 1570, you will see the names of the people who sponsored and signed this resolution.”
Representative Adeyina revealed that the clerk of the Georgia House of Representatives will make a copy of the resolution available for record purposes.
Juliet Vincent-Obi also serves as the CEO and founder of House of Ebony Limited, which she uses to foster youth and women’s economic empowerment by providing skills training, entrepreneurship development, and financial literacy within the sustainable African fashion sector.
