A group within the All Progressives Congress (APC) has called for the renomination of its National Chairman, Nentawe Yilwatda, at the party’s national convention scheduled for later this month.
The group, operating under the banner Move Forward with Nentawe Advocates, urged party stakeholders to rally behind Yilwatda, citing his leadership performance since assuming office.
Convener of the group, Ezenwa A. A. Onyirimba, said the APC chairman had demonstrated “impeccable leadership traits” within the short period of his tenure.
The group also appealed to Bola Ahmed Tinubu and other key stakeholders in the ruling party to support Yilwatda’s return as National Chairman at the forthcoming convention.
In a statement issued in Abuja on Tuesday, the group described Yilwatda as “a seasoned developer, visionary leader and tested technocrat whose leadership will further strengthen the party and sustain its progressive ideals.”
It added that under his leadership, the APC would continue to consolidate its progress and position itself for victory in the 2027 general elections.
Onyirimba disclosed that the group had begun extensive stakeholder engagements across the country to mobilise support for Yilwatda ahead of the convention.
He said the chairman had “consistently demonstrated exceptional capacity and leadership competence,” stressing that with him “as the pilot, the APC remains secure and assured of victory for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the 2027 general elections.”
The group reaffirmed its commitment to promoting credible leadership and unity within the APC, expressing confidence that Yilwatda’s emergence would consolidate the party’s gains, stability and electoral success.
