Delta State Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori, and his Cross River and Enugu State counterparts, Bassey Otu and Peter Mbah, respectively, have extended warm felicitations to the Muslim faithful in their states and across Nigeria on the occasion of Eid-el-Fitr, marking the successful completion of the holy month of Ramadan.

Oborevwori, in a statement signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Festus Ahon, in Asaba, congratulated Muslims for their devotion, sacrifice, and commitment to the spiritual values of Islam, as demonstrated during the period of fasting and prayer.

The governor noted that Ramadan represents a period of deep reflection, self-discipline, compassion, and renewed faith, urging Muslims to sustain these virtues beyond the holy month for the overall good of society.

He emphasised the importance of peaceful coexistence, unity, and tolerance among people of different religious and ethnic backgrounds.

The governor also called on Nigerians to use the occasion to pray for the continued peace, stability, and progress of the nation, stressing that collective efforts and mutual understanding remain key to overcoming current socio-economic challenges.

While wishing Muslims a joyous and peaceful Eid celebration, Oborevwori assured Deltans of his administration’s unwavering commitment to inclusive governance, infrastructural development, and the overall well-being of all citizens, in line with his M.O.R.E Agenda.

ALSO, in a goodwill message by his Chief Press Secretary and Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Mr Linus Obogo, the Cross River State Governor, Otu, commended the Muslim community for successfully completing the sacred observance of Ramadan.

The governor noted that the conclusion of Ramadan and the celebration of Eid-el-Fitr represent a moment of spiritual triumph and renewal, urging the faithful to preserve and sustain the virtues of humility, compassion, sacrifice, and generosity that are imbued during the holy month.

He further observed that “the festival offers a unique opportunity for Nigerians across religious and ethnic divides to strengthen the bonds of unity, tolerance and peaceful coexistence,” noting that “these values remain indispensable to the progress and stability of both Cross River State and the nation at large.”

On his part, Mbah, in a message, extended his warmest greetings to the Muslim Ummah in Enugu State, in particular, and to Nigerians in general.

“The sacred period of Ramadan, defined by sacrifice, discipline, and deep spiritual reflection, typifies the rebirth that we fervently pray for and look forward to as a nation.

“As we mark this special day, may the enduring lessons of brotherhood, compassion, and the shared humanity that prevailed throughout Ramadan usher in a new season of unity and progress in our country.
