Cleric empowers 100 in Delta, implores APC leaders to consider masses’ plight
A House of Representatives member representing Ajeromi-Ifelodun Federal Constituency, Dr Kalejaiye Adeboye Paul, also known as KAP, has urged elected officials to take feedback from the people, ask about their needs, and give them what they think should be done.
He made the call in Awodi-Ora, Ajegunle, Lagos, during a programme where he shared his stewardship and also outlined his vision.
The lawmaker, while presenting his stewardship, said he had sponsored three bills, moved six motions so far, facilitated training of over 200 youths in ICT with incentives, among others.
Also, a cleric and political appointee, Nicholas Efele, has urged the All Progressives Congress (APC) leaders to maintain close ties with their grassroots base, saying that what is good for the elite is also good for the masses.
Efele gave the charge while distributing cash gifts to over 100 people drawn from the 10 wards of Warri North Local Council of Delta State.
The cash empowerment programme, themed “Empower the People for Tomorrow’s Followership”, was held in Koko, the council’s headquarters.
The cleric, who serves as Executive Director of Planning, Research and Statistics at the Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (DESOPADEC), framed the intervention as both a moral and political obligation,
He said, “The party belongs to all of us, and what makes up the party are the people. We may not be able to buy vehicles for everyone, but little support matters.”
He added that the initiative was designed to “strengthen grassroots support and improve the welfare of party faithful.”
