The Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice of Ondo State, Dr. Kayode Ajulo SAN, on Friday, disclosed plans to set up mobile courts that will solely handle traffic offenses and violations in the state.
While stressing that the move will promote order on the state’s new road networks, Ajulo emphasised that the initiative will support to the ongoing infrastructure drive being initiated by Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa.
The Chief Legal Officer of the state, who revealed this to newsmen in Akure, the state capital m, stated that the initiative was being developed in collaboration with the Chief Judge of state to ensure justice is swiftly served.
According to Ajulo, the mobile courts will operate flexibly throughout the state and aimed at correcting bad traffic behavior and discouraging violations, rather than just punishing offenders.
The Justice Commissioner urged all road users, including drivers, commercial riders, and pedestrians, to adopt discipline as a form of patriotism.
He stated that the success of the government’s investment in infrastructure depends heavily on how citizens use it.
He said: “The mobile courts will ensure that every violation is quickly addressed, protecting the benefits of our development and ensuring the safety of our people. The rule of law must accompany every vehicle on our beautifully rebuilt roads.”
The Attorney General commended Aiyedatiwa over what he described wave of physical development across the state, particularly the ongoing beautification of Akure, the state capital, pointing out that the new road intersections have raised the state capital to the desired standards.
