The International President of De Norsemen Kclub International (DNKI), Chief Oliver Patrick, has strongly condemned the tragic killings in Jos, Plateau State, which reportedly claimed no fewer than 28 innocent lives on Palm Sunday.

Describing the incident as barbaric, senseless, and a grave affront to humanity, Chief Patrick expressed deep outrage over the continued loss of innocent lives across the country.

According a statement signed by the Publicity Secretary Mr. Darlington Anugom, DNKI noted that such acts of violence, particularly on a sacred day observed by Christians worldwide, represent not only an attack on human life but also a violation of the values of peace, tolerance, and coexistence that bind the nation together.

The DNKI President called on the Federal Government and the Plateau State Government to act decisively by ensuring that the perpetrators of the heinous act are swiftly identified, apprehended, and prosecuted in accordance with the law.

He stressed that justice must not only be done but must be seen to be done, in order to restore public confidence and deter future occurrences.

He further urged security agencies to intensify intelligence gathering, surveillance, and rapid response efforts in Jos and other vulnerable communities across the country. According to him, proactive and coordinated security measures are essential to prevent a recurrence of such tragic incidents and to safeguard the lives and property of citizens.

“As a humanitarian organization committed to the promotion of peace, justice, and human dignity, we are deeply saddened by this unfortunate development. We extend our heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims, the affected communities, and the good people of Plateau State. Our thoughts and prayers are with all those who have suffered loss and trauma as a result of this attack,” he stated.

Chief Patrick also warned that the persistent wave of killings in parts of the country raises serious constitutional concerns, particularly regarding the fundamental responsibility of government to protect the lives and welfare of its citizens. He emphasized that failure to effectively address these security challenges risks eroding public trust in governance and undermining the rule of law.

The DNKI reiterated its call for a united national response to insecurity, urging community leaders, religious institutions, civil society organizations, and all well-meaning Nigerians to collaborate with government authorities in promoting peace, vigilance, and mutual understanding.
