The 2026 edition of the Empower Her Voice Conference drew a strong turnout in Enugu, bringing together students, entrepreneurs and thought leaders for a day of conversations centred on leadership, enterprise and personal development.
Held at the University of Nigeria, Enugu Campus, the event was convened by Emmanuel Anabueze, founder of the Humanitarian Achievement and Outreach Foundation, with a focus on equipping young women with practical tools to navigate an increasingly competitive landscape.
Opening the conference, Prof. Rebecca Nnamani, Dean of Student Affairs, underscored the importance of structured platforms that support female advancement and student development, noting that intentional engagement remains key to unlocking potential.
A series of speakers followed, offering perspectives shaped by both professional experience and personal journeys. Among them, Amb. Dr. Chinwe Lilian urged participants to approach leadership proactively, emphasising preparation and self-belief as essential foundations.

Onyekachi Ezeh, speaking on brand development and experiential impact, highlighted execution as the defining factor between ideas and results, encouraging participants to translate creativity into tangible outcomes. Similarly, Mrs. Ifeoma Ezechukwu drew on her entrepreneurial journey to advocate consistency and incremental growth, stressing that meaningful ventures often begin on a modest scale.
The conference also featured a panel session with Jasmine Chinaza Onyia, Judith Chidera Okechukwu, Miss Emelda Lilian Nkem and Ifeoma Nebe, who explored the realities of building confidence, overcoming barriers and identifying opportunities in evolving professional spaces.
Beyond formal sessions, the event incorporated interactive elements, including open mic performances and audience engagement activities, contributing to a more immersive experience for attendees.

A notable highlight was the Empower Her Voice Student Startup Support Grant, through which ten participants received ₦50,000 each to support early-stage business ideas. Anabueze described the initiative as part of a broader commitment to expanding access to opportunities for young women.
“This is just the beginning,” he said, noting plans to scale the programme to reach a wider pool of beneficiaries.
Participants reported a shift in perspective following the event, with several highlighting increased confidence and a renewed willingness to pursue entrepreneurial paths.
Reflecting on the initiative, Anabueze described Empower Her Voice as an evolving platform aimed at fostering leadership and long-term impact.
The conference reinforced a broader message gaining traction across Nigeria’s youth landscape: that empowering women is central to economic growth, social development and community resilience.
