2027 poll: APC Forum Backs Tinubu, Fubara for Continuity of Reforms

As political alignments ahead of the 2027 general elections begin to take shape, the All Progressives Congress (APC) Forum for Good Governance and Continuity has declared that Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Siminalayi Fubara deserve a second term in office to sustain what it described as an ongoing developmental and reform agenda.

The group, alongside over 500 affiliated organisations, made this known during a press conference in Abuja, where it presented an assessment of both leaders’ performance as the basis for its endorsement.

Speaking on behalf of the forum, its National Coordinator, Henry Awolabi, said the call for continuity was rooted in the need to consolidate gains already recorded at both the federal and state levels.

According to him, President Tinubu’s administration has demonstrated “courage and clarity” in implementing far-reaching economic reforms, including fuel subsidy removal, exchange rate unification, and tax restructuring, which he said are gradually repositioning Nigeria’s economy.

“When this administration assumed office, Nigeria faced significant fiscal challenges,” Awolabi stated. “Through decisive leadership and reform-driven policies, the country has begun to stabilise, restore investor confidence, and chart a new course for sustainable growth.”

The forum argued that halting such reforms midway could reverse progress, stressing that long-term transformation requires consistency in leadership and policy direction.

In Rivers State, the group commended Governor Fubara for stabilising the political environment and focusing on infrastructure, healthcare, and agriculture as key drivers of development.

It noted that the governor’s efforts in completing abandoned projects, improving road networks, and supporting food security initiatives have positioned the state on a path of recovery and growth.

The forum described Fubara’s leadership as measured and people-oriented, highlighting his ability to navigate political challenges while maintaining governance focus.

“Development is not a one-term project,” Awolabi added. “It requires continuity, discipline, and sustained commitment to the people.”

Reaffirming its position, the APC forum declared that both leaders have shown the capacity, resilience, and vision required to continue in office beyond their current terms.

“We believe that to sustain the developmental trajectory already set in motion, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Siminalayi Fubara should be given the mandate to complete what they have started,” the group said.

The endorsement adds to the growing conversation around performance-based evaluation of political leadership as stakeholders begin to position themselves ahead of the 2027 polls.
