Adebayo urges Tinubu to ensure security amid Plateau killings

Frontline politician Prince Adewole Adebayo has condemned the recent spate of attacks in Plateau State, describing the killings of innocent residents as “dastardly” and unacceptable.

During a visit to affected communities, Adebayo criticised government leaders at all levels for what he called a failure to fulfill their primary responsibility of protecting lives and property.

He stressed that governance is fundamentally about serving the people and called on authorities to prioritize security above all else.

In a direct appeal to the presidency, Adebayo stated that President Bola Tinubu has a constitutional obligation to ensure the safety of all Nigerians.

He emphasised that the nation possesses adequate resources and intelligence capabilities to tackle insecurity, provided there is genuine political will.

“These attackers are cowards,” he remarked, insisting that criminal groups carrying out hit-and-run assaults cannot surpass the strength or knowledge of the Nigerian state.

He warned that perpetrators should not be allowed to evade justice if the government acts decisively.

Noting the strategic importance of Plateau State and the wider Middle Belt, Adebayo described the region as “the glue holding Nigeria together” and cautioned that ongoing instability poses a serious threat to national unity.

He called for residents to rise above ethnic and religious divisions, urging communities to work collectively to identify and isolate criminal elements and their collaborators.

Adebayo stressed that justice must be pursued through lawful means to restore order and public confidence.

Reassuring displaced and fearful residents, he affirmed that no one should be forced to abandon their ancestral homes.

He also pledged continued engagement with local communities to promote peace, strengthen cohesion, and support long-term development in the region.
