Some fun-seekers in Calabar have advised Nigerians to find ways to relax and enjoy their lives even in the face of economic challenges to avoid mental and other health problems.
The funseekers made the remark in a separate interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Calabar yesterday.
The respondents, who were at the Airport Field (an amusement park), enjoying themselves, appealed to Nigerians to make the most of their situations if they were to have a healthy life.
A Public Servant in Calabar, Mrs Cynthia Affiong, stressed that waiting for the economy to improve to have fun might prove more costly if health issues set in.
She said that the absence of relaxation might create mental health problems that could degenerate into other health issues, adding that it was why she was picnicking with family and friends to celebrate Easter.
She said: “I really think it is important for Nigerians to look for a way to relax, even though I know that it’s difficult to find something that will make you smile when you look around.”
She appealed to leaders at all levels across the nation to continue on their stride to make the country better and make life easier for Nigerians.
Similarly, Mr Timi John, who was also relaxing in the park with his children, said he had to enjoy the public holiday declared by the Federal Government with his kids.
John said that, even though he knew times were hard, he still had to celebrate Easter with his family, noting that one would always find happiness within oneself to overcome the country’s challenges.
