Controversial singer, Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, and Nollywood actor Charles Okocha exchanged heated words on Wednesday ahead of their celebrity boxing rematch scheduled for Friday.

The pair confronted each other during a press briefing for Chaos in the Ring, where their bout, tagged “Unfinished Business,” will headline the July 31 fight card.

Portable repeatedly predicted another victory over Okocha as both men argued during the face-off.

The singer later stood up, threw mock punches in Okocha’s direction and shoved a table, prompting security personnel to intervene.

Portable said he had prepared for the contest and was determined to defeat the actor again.

“I’m not here to joke. I’m here to fight and win,” he said.

Okocha urged the singer to save his energy for the ring and promised to prove himself during the rematch.

“On Friday, everybody will see who the real champion is,” he said.

The pair first fought in 2023 following a disagreement over a business deal.
Portable was declared the winner by unanimous decision after four rounds, but Okocha disputed the result and later demanded a rematch.

Ahead of Friday’s bout, Okocha trained with British heavyweight boxers Daniel Dubois and Moses Itauma.

Portable prepared with WBA Africa lightweight champion Taiwo “Esepo” Agbaje.

The singer will enter the ring seeking to recover from his first celebrity boxing defeat after losing to content creator Carter Efe by unanimous decision in May.

Another celebrity bout on the card will feature musicians Mr Real and Idowest, whose disagreement over the ownership of their 2018 song, “Legbegbe,” has continued for years.
Organisers have promoted the fight as a winner-takes-ownership contest, with both artistes maintaining their claims to the song.

“I’m ready for both of them. Everything will be settled in the ring,” Idowest said.

Mr Real also expressed confidence in his preparations for the bout.

“I’ve trained for this. It’s not just entertainment anymore,” he said.

Founder of Chaos in the Ring, Dr Ezekiel Adamu, said the platform was created to provide more opportunities for African boxers and attract new audiences to the sport.

Adamu added that the long-term goal was to bring world championship boxing events to Nigeria.
The professional contests on the card include Shiloh Defreitas against Eric Quarms and Yusuf Adeniji against Rilwan Lawal.

Basit Adebayo will face Said Chino, while Samuel Antwi will take on Suleiman Jafaru.
