Troops of the Nigerian Army have intercepted a large cache of ammunition and suspected explosive materials along the Manchok–Jos Road in Kaduna State, leading to the arrest of seven suspects.
The suspects were arrested on April 16, 2026, when soldiers at a checkpoint near Boys Science Secondary School in Manchok stopped a navyblue Opel wagon commercial vehicle carrying seven passengers.
Items recovered include 569 anti-aircraft rounds, a warhead, empty AK-47 shells, components of explosive materials, and some condemned mobile handsets.
The driver, identified as Khalifa Bawa, claimed the items were part of a waybill consignment from an unidentified sender, but he could not provide any details or contact information.
All occupants of the vehicle were arrested for further investigation, with plans to transfer them to appropriate authorities for detailed interrogation and possible prosecution.
