Ahead of the 2027 general elections, the Senator representing Kaduna South Senatorial, Sunday Marshall Katung, embarked on a strategic week-long tour of all eight Local Government Areas in the Zone, where he took the Renewed Hope message directly to the grassroots, in support of President Bola Tinubu and Governor Uba Sani.
The tour, according to the media office of Senator Katung, was a political offensive to consolidate the grassroots, energise party structures, and align Southern Kaduna firmly behind President Tinubu and Governor Sani ahead of 2027.
In a statement by Katung’s Special Adviser on Media and Communications, Midat Joseph on Monday, “at every stop, Senator Katung made the case for continuity and highlighted bold federal government interventions facilitated under President Tinubu’s administration, including the establishment of the Federal University of Applied Sciences, Kachia, and the Federal Medical Centre, Kafanchan — projects long demanded by the people of the Senatorial District but only delivered under the APC.”
According to him, “the outreach was designed to connect directly with citizens, listen to their concerns, and strengthen party structures at the ward and local government levels.”
He said, “Senator Katung used the tour to galvanise support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Governor Uba Sani, and the All Progressives Congress ahead of 2027″, pointing out that “politics of development must replace politics of sentiment if the Senatorial District is to attract more federal and state attention”.
“Politics is about results, and results are what we are seeing, Senator Katung told stakeholders in Zangon Kataf. For decades, Southern Kaduna asked for these institutions. President Tinubu listened and acted. That is the politics of performance, not empty promises,” the statement added.
It further stressed, “the Senator was equally firm on Governor Sani’s record, praising his inclusive governance style and his deliberate steps to heal old wounds and restore trust across Kaduna State”, while describing Sani as governor who
