The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has released the results of candidates who sat for the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) on Monday, April 20, as the nationwide exercise continues.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, JAMB spokesperson Fabian Benjamin said candidates can check their results through the board’s designated channels.
“The results for Monday, 20th, have been released. Candidates can view their results using the usual process,” Benjamin said.
Candidates are required to send “UTMERESULT” via SMS to 55019 or 66019 using the same phone number used during registration to access their scores.
The latest batch forms part of JAMB’s phased release of results since the examination began on April 16, with over two million candidates participating in computer-based tests across accredited centres nationwide.
The board had earlier released results for candidates who sat the examination on Thursday, followed by a combined batch for those who wrote on Friday and Saturday.
However, the Friday and Saturday results were delayed beyond the initially scheduled release date, prompting complaints from candidates. JAMB later apologised for the delay, attributing it to the absence of its chief executive due to official engagements.
The delayed results were eventually released on Sunday, April 19, before the board proceeded with subsequent batches.
JAMB said it will continue releasing results in phases as the examination process progresses, maintaining its standard procedure for result checking.
The UTME is a key requirement for admission into tertiary institutions in Nigeria, with millions of candidates sitting the examination annually.
