A United Kingdom-based Islamic scholar, Shaykh Ahmad Dabbagh, has advocated the adoption of Prophetic methodology and practices as a pathway to sustainable global peace.
Shaykh Dabbagh, who lent his voice to the call for enduring peace and an end to crises and wars across the globe, emphasized that peace remains the most desirable value of humanity, regardless of faith.
The Islamic scholar, currently on a World Peace Tour in Kano, questioned the rationale behind the bloodshed caused by devastating wars, especially when embattled nations often return to the negotiation table after years of destruction and loss of precious lives.
Addressing a press conference, Shaykh Dabbagh explained that his visit to Kano is part of his 2026 African tour, which aims to reach 195 countries to propagate the Prophetic message of peace to humanity.
He revealed that he has already visited 70 countries in Africa, adding that his trip to Nigeria has provided opportunities to extend the World Peace mission to Oyo, Abuja, and Kano.
He further explained that part of the mission includes organizing conferences to enlighten the youth on the renewed message of the Prophet on peace, as well as providing specialized training for professionals and students of knowledge to better practice their religion.
According to him: “We are seeing that people are coming together for peace to end wars. This raises an important question: after causing so much harm, bloodshed, and destruction, why not choose peace from the beginning?
“If, after 10 or 20 years of loss of lives, property, and honor, people still return to negotiation and dialogue, why not embrace peace in the first place?”
Shaykh Dabbagh further noted that for peace to prevail in any community, individuals must first cultivate peace within themselves, both in their hearts and in their conduct. He added that a harmonious society begins at the individual level before extending to those in positions of authority.
