The Nigerian media has been thrown into mourning following the death of veteran entertainment journalist, editor, and media executive Clement Ige.
Ige career’s left a lasting imprint on modern Nigerian journalism.
Ige, who worked with The Guardian Newspapers, Nigerian Tribune, and others, was 69 years old.
The veteran journalist, died on Wednesday, April 29, 2026 at his residence in Soka, Felele extension, Ibadan, Oyo State.
According to our source, the seasoned media professional, particularly known for his association with music legend King Sunny Ade, has been so traumatized since the death of his wife, Princess Ige, who passed away last year.
The renowned journalist and A&R is survived by children and grandchildren.
Reacting, Head of Media and Public Relations, The Temple Company, Femi Salawu, said: “Mr Clement was one of the people behind the scenes that made Sunny on Sunday 70th Birthday Concert happen.
“I attest to how he made it easy to communicate and relate with Baba KSA. He was very resourceful, though very firm lol.
“We worked closely together during the concert in 2016 and we took KSA through one of the biggest media interview rounds that Baba has ever done.
“May his soul rest in peace and may God comfort his family.
