Special Envoy on Security, Defence to UNPAF, Ambassador Jude Nwaukor

The United Nations Peace Ambassadors Foundation (UNPAF) has appointed Ambassador Jude Onochie Nwaukor as Special Envoy Director for Security, Defence and Intelligence, citing his experience in peacebuilding and security matters.

The appointment was conveyed in a letter signed by the Chairman of UNPAF, Prof. Kingsley Chimdi Ossai, who said Nwaukor’s selection was based on his leadership qualities and commitment to promoting global peace and stability.

According to the Foundation, the new Special Envoy Director will provide strategic leadership and advisory support on issues relating to security, defence and intelligence across UNPAF’s international initiatives.

The organisation said Nwaukor would also be expected to strengthen collaboration with government agencies, intergovernmental bodies and security institutions around the world as part of efforts to promote peace, conflict prevention and international cooperation.

Ossai noted that the appointment reflects the Foundation’s confidence in Nwaukor’s ability to contribute meaningfully to its mission of fostering sustainable peace and enhancing diplomatic engagement globally.

He added that the role would involve supporting intelligence-driven strategies aimed at improving global stability and strengthening security cooperation among nations.

The Foundation expressed optimism that Nwaukor’s tenure would expand UNPAF’s global footprint in the areas of peace, security and diplomatic relations.

The appointment takes immediate effect in line with the statutes and regulations guiding the organisation, the letter stated.
