The National Screening Committee of the All Progressives Congress has cleared Hon. Remi Odunsi (née Oluwalogbon) to contest for the House of Representatives seat representing Kosofe Federal Constituency ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Odunsi, who serves as the National Director of Women Mobilisation for the Remi Tinubu Support Organization, was screened and officially given the party’s approval to contest under the platform of the APC.

Speaking after the screening, Odunsi pledged to provide purposeful and impactful leadership for the people of Kosofe Federal Constituency if elected.

Widely regarded as a grassroots politician and philanthropist, she is known for her community service initiatives, empowerment programmes for women, and support for vulnerable groups, including persons with disabilities and the underprivileged.

She said her decision to contest was driven by a desire to expand her contributions to community development and improve the welfare of residents across the constituency.

Odunsi noted that representing Kosofe at the National Assembly would provide her with a stronger platform to address local challenges and scale up initiatives aimed at improving livelihoods.

Her candidacy also received the backing of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors Youth & Women Network, whose members welcomed her after the completion of her nomination process.

The National Coordinator of the group, Adewumi Adetolaju, described Odunsi as a credible and visionary leader capable of providing effective representation for the constituency.

According to him, the group is committed to mobilising grassroots support for her across Kosofe.

A graduate of Management and Accounting from the University of Ife, Odunsi also holds an ACCA certification and attended executive programmes at Lagos Business School, Harvard University and EDHEC Business School.

She is the founder and Chief Executive Officer of Eridan Group and also serves on the boards of Mascot Insurance Brokers, Executive Coach Builders and Lighthouse Group.

Odunsi said her “Threefold Impact” initiative has delivered solar-powered boreholes across Lagos, Ogun and Ibadan, supported school renovation projects and provided annual food support to over 5,000 families.

She also highlighted her partnership with Lotus Bank in training and providing grant funding to market women through the Street Business School initiative in 2024.

Speaking on her ambition, Odunsi said her goal is to deepen community development efforts while ensuring effective representation for the people of Kosofe.

“At the National Assembly, laws are made and policies are shaped. I believe this platform will enable me to scale up the impact of the work I have already been doing for years,” she said.

She added that her legislative agenda would focus on youth empowerment, women’s access to enterprise finance, healthcare expansion, infrastructure development and support for small businesses within the constituency.

Odunsi is also a recipient of the Yessiey Philanthropist of the Year Award.
