Kogi state governor, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo has been urged to give urgent attention to the rehabilitation of
Ikowa Opa Road in Kabba, Kabba/Bunu Local Government Area of Kogi State.
A native of Kogi State and a member of the Kabba community, Laraiyeytan Dare Sunday made the appeal in a letter addressed to the governor in Lokoja on Wednesday.
Dare said, “I humbly appeal to the Executive Governor of Kogi State and Chief Servant of the State, His Excellency, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, to kindly give urgent attention to the rehabilitation of Ikowa Opa Road in Kabba, Kabba/Bunu Local Government Area”.
He said, “The condition of this road has become terribly deplorable and almost impassable for vehicles, especially now that the rainy season has commenced. Residents, students, farmers, transporters and other road users are facing serious hardship on a daily basis.
“The population within this axis is growing steadily due to the establishment of Kogi State University, Kabba by the immediate past Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Adoza Bello. Unfortunately, the poor state of the road is negatively affecting social and economic activities in the area.
“Farmers find it difficult to transport their produce to the market, transporters are discouraged from conveying passengers and students, while herders take advantage of the bad road network to stray into farmlands and cause serious insecurity challenge.
“Your Excellency sir, on behalf of the highly populated indegenes of this axis, I sincerely plead with you to come to our aid by fixing this important road. Your timely intervention will bring relief to the people and your good works will continually remain in our hearts and prayers.
Thank you for your anticipated attention”.
